Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-08
1. What we provide
satoshis.watch shows read-only views of public Bitcoin addresses — balances, transaction history, value over time, market and network data, and labeled counterparty hints derived from the public Bitcoin blockchain and other publicly available or curated sources. We never hold or move funds. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Not advice — verify independently
This is the most important thing to understand:
- Our labels, attributions, and analytics are heuristic, probabilistic leads — informational only.
- They are not financial, legal, investment, tax, compliance, or fundraising advice.
- They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
- You must independently verify any label, attribution, balance, or history before relying on it for any decision.
You are solely responsible for any decision you make using our data, and for confirming it against authoritative sources.
3. Accounts
A Watch account saves the one Bitcoin address you add, your display preferences, and a username you pick. A Watch+ account saves up to 10 addresses with names and colors, plus your settings and display preferences. No email, no KYC, no external accounts. You can delete your account at any time.
4. Payments
Watch+ is a paid tier. Where payment applies, it may be via Bitcoin, Lightning, or similar digital payment rails. We do not collect names, mailing addresses, card numbers, or other cardholder-style payment information through those rails. Small digital payments are generally non-refundable given their nature and size.
5. Acceptable use
When using the service, you agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose, or to violate the rights of others.
- Abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service, including denial-of-service behavior, vulnerability scanning, or circumventing rate limits.
- Scrape or bulk-extract our data in order to repackage or resell it as your own dataset or product.
- Misrepresent our probabilistic leads as verified fact, or present them as our endorsement of any accusation.
- Attempt to de-anonymize, re-identify, harass, or endanger any person using the data.
6. Rate-limiting and access control
We may rate-limit, throttle, or block traffic at our discretion, including abusive traffic, scanners, automated scrapers, or excessive use, to protect service availability and integrity. We may do this without notice.
7. Intellectual property
The underlying blockchain data is public. We claim no ownership of the raw public Bitcoin blockchain or other public-source facts. Our analytics, labels, presentation, design, code, compiled datasets, and product packaging are ours; you may not strip our work and resell our compiled analytics as your own product.
8. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. There is no uptime guarantee. You use the service at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, or from any decision you make based on our data. The data consists of probabilistic leads and public-source evidence, not guaranteed fact.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
