One Bitcoin address is not a whole wallet

A Bitcoin address identifies a payment destination. A wallet can manage many addresses. This report shows activity associated with the address you enter. It does not include the other addresses in your wallet.

Why the total can differ from your wallet

Imagine a wallet has 0.02 BTC at address A and 0.03 BTC at address B. A report for A shows 0.02 BTC. The wallet may show 0.05 BTC because it knows both addresses. This is an illustration, not live account data.

Wallets can also send change to a different address when spending. A smaller balance at one address does not, by itself, establish how much the owner still holds elsewhere.

Balance, transactions, and unspent outputs

A balance is an amount. A transaction is a recorded transfer that can have several inputs and outputs. An unspent transaction output, or UTXO, is an output that has not yet been spent. One address can have many unspent outputs, so transaction count, UTXO count, and balance measure different things.

The report’s chain notes describe observations such as output count and repeated use of an address. They are not a safety rating or an instruction to move funds. Very small outputs may be uneconomic to spend under some fee assumptions; their presence alone does not prove an attack.

Repeated use is publicly visible

Payments to the same address are publicly linkable. Reusing an address may make one report look more complete, but it can also make activity easier to associate. You do not need to change how your wallet handles addresses to use this report.

What this report cannot establish

An address report does not prove the owner’s identity, list every address they control, or reveal the purpose of every transfer. Public labels can include qualifications. Historical market values do not establish what someone paid.
