Watch a Bitcoin address without connecting a wallet
To inspect an address once, use the free lookup: paste its public Bitcoin address and read the report. To return to addresses together, create a free Watch account and save up to three. Neither option connects to a wallet or gives the site control of bitcoin.
Look up once, with no account
The public report shows the entered address's balance, transactions and history. Lookup is read only and asks for a public address, not a seed phrase, private key or wallet approval. Check a balance explains what the report shows.
Save addresses for later
A free Watch account can save up to three Bitcoin addresses. When you return, you can switch between them or view their combined balance and history. You can also save display preferences. Saving an address does not prove you own it and does not subscribe you to transaction alerts.
What a watch can and cannot see
A watch follows the public activity of the addresses you enter. It cannot discover every address in someone else's wallet, identify an owner from an address alone, or move funds. Wallet software may generate new receiving and change addresses; add each public address you want to follow. One address explains why.
Privacy and limits
Public addresses and their transactions are visible on the Bitcoin network. Consider whether saving or sharing an address could link activity you intended to keep separate. Common questions
Do I need an email address?
No. An account needs a username and a password, or a Watch Key file. There is no email address, phone number or identity check.
Will I get an alert when bitcoin arrives?
No. Saving an address does not send alerts. Open your account to see the latest activity, balances and transactions.
How many addresses can I watch?
A free Watch account saves three Bitcoin addresses and one space. Watch+ saves ten addresses and up to ten spaces. A space is a named group of up to ten addresses, such as Family or Cold storage.
Can I keep addresses on other networks?
Yes, in an Alt Coin space. It keeps each address with a link to that network's explorer. Balances are shown for Bitcoin addresses only.
Can anyone else see what I watch?
No. Your saved addresses, their names and your private notes belong to your account, and private notes never appear in public reports.
Can I download my data?
Yes. A space exports to a CSV file in your browser. A Watch account downloads the latest year of transaction history, and Watch+ downloads the full history.
Does it work with a hardware wallet?
Yes, the same way as with any wallet: copy a receiving address from the wallet's app and save it. satoshis.watch only needs the public address, never the device, a seed phrase or a private key.
